Minimum Requirements:

Associate's degree or two years of college and one year of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Position Description:

Position will provide basic computer support for the Brown Cancer Center as well as assist with the coordination of departmental acquisition, asset management, and training for technology. Under direct supervision of the Brown Cancer Center Directory of IT, this position will provide technical support by performing installation, repair, and preventative maintenance of personal computer and related software/hardware. Troubleshoot software and hardware failures and help identify network problems when related to personal desktop computers. Activities include recognition, research, isolation, resolution, and follow-up steps. Will also provide some phone and remote support using currently installed Bomgar appliance. Applicant must be self-motivated and able to work with little supervision, understand the implications of work and be able to implement solution. Knowledge of system principles, theories, concepts, and technologies may be required. Some local travel between each of the University's campuses will be required. Applicant must have reliable transportation. Good customer service skills are also required.

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Four plus years' experience with extensive troubleshooting, supporting and problem-solving Microsoft Windows based desktop and laptop computers.
  • Significant experience with Apple computers as well as repair experience with Deskjet and Laserjet printers.
  • Experience with Linux would be a plus.
  • Additionally, significant knowledge with networking, such as TCP/IP, Ping and Tracert.

Target Compensation Maximum:

$26.61

Target Compensation Minimum:

$15.41

Compensation will be commensurate to candidate experience.
