Position Overview
The Philosophy Department is hiring a full-time teaching assistant professor for 2024-25 academic year to teach Philosophy 1001 (Foundations in Philosophy) and other Marquette Core Curriculum courses as assigned.
Duties and Responsibilities
The successful candidate(s) will have full responsibility for the sections they are teaching, including course and syllabus preparation; grading exams and papers. Must maintain a minimum of three office hours per week.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Earned doctorate or a terminal degree. Five years of teaching experience or other suitable professional experience.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Commitment to teaching critical thinking skills. Knowledge of effective and inclusive teaching techniques and strategies. Demonstrated excellence in undergraduate teaching. Willingness to collaborate and engage with other departmental and university faculty.
