Position Description Summary:
The George Washington University School of Business (GWSB) invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure-track, specialized faculty position at the rank of Teaching Assistant Professor in the Department of Information Systems and Technology Management (ISTM) starting in Fall of 2024.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
The position carries an 18-credit teaching responsibility annually, involving undergraduate and graduate courses taught primarily on campus. There may be an occasional online course assigned as well. The faculty member should be able to teach traditional information systems courses such as Introduction to Information Systems, Systems Analysis and Design, Database Management, IT Project Management, and Information Systems Security at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.
Minimum Qualifications:
Applicants for this position must hold a graduate degree in information systems or closely related discipline with at least 10 years of work experience or a terminal degree in information systems or a closely related field. Applicants must have a record of teaching excellence in Information Systems or related fields as evidenced by letters of reference, teaching evaluations, or assessments.
Advertised Salary: Salary will be commensurate with experience.

The ISTM Department is committed to providing rigorous and up-to-date education in its dual fields of Information Systems and Technology Management. The department offers a BS in Information Systems (BSIS), and an MS in Information Systems Technology (MSIST). In addition to its teaching program, ISTM faculty pursue a growing body of important research in Information Systems and Technology Management. Several outstanding new faculty members have joined the department in recent years and contribute to teaching in BSIS, MSIST and other graduate programs, as well as publishing in top tier research journals.
The George Washington University is situated in the heart of Washington, DC, blocks from the White House. The School of Business enrolls about 1,500 undergraduate and 1,600 graduate students and has a regular full-time faculty numbering approximately 125. The ISTM Department offers courses at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.
