Job Summary:

Under the supervision of the Assistant Treasurer and overall supervision of the Associate Treasurer, assists with designing data analytics for tax compliance including reviewing, analyzing, and responding to tax related matters for both domestic and global tax operations. This includes supporting the University departments with their data analytics, business tax needs and assisting staff on tax concerns.  Directly responsible for the preparation and filing of certain data analytics reports with regards to tax returns and related information.

Essential Functions:

  • Collecting, interpreting data, analyzing results, reporting the results back to the relevant tax and department stakeholders
  • Identifying patterns and trends in data sets for tax and campus departments
  • Working alongside teams within the department team to establish business needs
  • Defining new data collection and analysis processes
  • Design and implement tax data analytics reports
  • Design analytical deposit and reconcile tax payments including those for non-resident aliens, performers and vaccine excise
  • Preparing reports for the campus stakeholders stating trends, patterns, and predictions using relevant data based on various trends and facts
  • Reconcile and analyze University tax accounts
  • Participate in year-end tax reporting (1099, W-2, 1042-S. 1098-T)
  • Participate in the ongoing education of campus individuals regarding changes in tax matters

Other Functions:

  • Assists with the preparation of data for the development of responses to IRS and Department of Revenue correspondence
  • Assists with special projects
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education, Experience):

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Taxation, or a related field
  • 1 – 2 years’ experience in data analytics and/or tax functions
  • Some tax knowledge, research skills, and proven ability to apply and communicate that knowledge
  • Ability to contribute to a collaborative teamwork atmosphere, through working effectively as a team member; understanding personal and team roles; contributing to a positive working environment by building solid relationships with team members; proactively seeking guidance, clarification and feedback.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to work independently
  • Proficient in current office technology, including Microsoft Office suite of software

Preferred Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education, Experience):

  • Master’s degree in Business or related field

Working Conditions:

  • Typical Office environment
  • Primary work location is Westborough, MA however travel to all campuses is required
  • Upon management approval this job is eligible for hybrid working privileges.

Additional Details:

Salary commensurate with experience up to $68,000.
