A postdoctoral intramural research training award (IRTA) position is available immediately for an outstanding candidate to study host responses to Mycobacterium tuberculosis infection in the T-lymphocyte Biology Unit (TBU), Laboratory of Parasitic Diseases at NIAID.
The main interests in the TBU are the mechanisms and regulation of T-cell-mediated host protection and immunopathology during Mycobacterium tuberculosis infection. Projects in the TBU utilize in vivo cellular immunological and imaging approaches to study antigen-specific CD4 and CD8 T-cell responses to Mtb infection in mice, non-human primates, and humans.
Applicants should have obtained a Ph.D. and/or M.D. degree within the past five years and have experience in the study of immunopathology with a focus on the Mycobacterium tuberculosis infection. Preferred candidates will have experience in the study of Ag-specific T-cell responses, multicolor flow cytometry, confocal microscopy, and in vivo animal models. Strong writing and speaking skills are also of critical importance.
Please submit a CV, bibliography, cover letter with a brief description of research experience and interests, and three letters of reference to Dr. Daniel Barber, email@example.com .
