Job Description

What We’re Looking For

The Systems Analyst/Sr. Systems Analyst role works within the Student Accounts Departments to support the mission of the University by providing complex system support for the department to include maintenance and configuration of the student accounting and billing systems, analyzing student accounts, and ensuring accuracy.  

A Bachelor's Degree, three years of relevant experience and an active Christian faith are required. Up to five years of relevant experience is preferred.

A combination of education and experience will be considered in lieu of the degree requirement.

Required Skills & Characteristics

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Knowledge of statistics and experience analyzing datasets.
  • Knowledge of queries, report writing, and experience presenting findings.  
  • Able to analyze and streamline complex processes.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Able to manage multiple priorities to meet deadlines.
  • Experience with SQL or other query languages. 

Preferred Skills

  • Experience using Banner in a Technical Support capacity. Experience with Automic Scheduling tool. 
  • Technical expertise with data extraction techniques.
  • Knowledge of and experience with reporting packages (Business Objects, SAS, Crystal Reports).
  • Technical expertise in data models, database design, data mining/segmentation techniques, SQL, and programming (.NET, C#, JavaScript).

A hybrid work arrangement may be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

What You Will Do

  • Utilize Banner to track verification requirements, establish student budgets & award aid to new & returning students. Including rule writing, fund sequencing, population selections & fund rules. Maintain scheduling system (Automic).
  • Package and review packages by populations and terms. Process aid eligibility for Federal and State aid in keeping with Federal and State regulations. Automate operational processes to improve data quality and reduce processing times.
  • Coordinate updates of financial aid award tools, exchange data files with Federal and State agencies, and resolve data questions and issues. Work with IT to automate operations and post data to Banner.
  • Support implementation of technological improvements within the Student Financial Aid Office
  • Perform other tasks as directed by the Director of Enrollment Management and Technology
  • Perform all other duties as assigned to support Baylor’s mission
  • Ability to comply with University policies
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance
