Job Summary/Basic Function: |
- Reports to the Assistant Director – Information Technology
- responsible for the installation, configuration and administration of critical college-wide applications and systems;
- provides a high level of system availability, reliability, and security for administrative servers, and critical system services processes;
- these systems include Microsoft Windows Domain, Microsoft SQL, Microsoft Exchange, Enterprise Application systems, and Enterprise backup and recovery systems;
- maintain campus communication systems including VOIP phone system & emergency notification systems;
- work with college personnel to determine technology project needs and develop plans for implementation;
- provide support for events on campus by internal and external clients;
- work schedule typically 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Mon. – Thur. and 8-12 noon Fri., (schedule may vary as needed).

Physical Demands: |
Walking, standing, sitting, pulling/pushing, lifting, crawling, climbing, bending, twisting, seeing, talking, hearing, fine dexterity, and capability to drive to off campus locations;

Minimum Qualifications: |
- Minimum of an Associate’s Degree (bachelor’s degree a plus) in a computer field from a regionally accredited college or university;
- minimum one year experience in a similar role or substantial coursework in one or more of the listed preferred technologies or skills.

Desirable Qualifications: |
Preferred experience with or knowledge of one or more of the following:
- Microsoft Windows Server administration,
- Microsoft SQL system administration,
- Microsoft Exchange system administration,

SAN administration preferably with Dell EqualLogic.
- Server and IO virtualization using VMware technology,
- Scripting technologies (PowerShell, Perl, PHP and Python),
- Installing, upgrading and configuring web applications with Microsoft IIS (Internet Information Services) or Apache with a SQL backend database,
- Data backup and recovery systems,
- Installing, deploying, and maintaining servers and other hardware in a data center environment,
- Assist with providing high availability of systems & services during a disaster situation;
- Experience securing servers from unauthorized access using industry based practices,
- Experience using command-line tools,
- Experience with Cisco switches and routers,
- Experience with configuration of firewalls;
- Experience with Cisco VOIP phone systems;
- Exhibits flexibility in working in a team environment;
- being a self-starter;

- possess excellent organizational skills;
