Job Summary

Student Wellness provides programs, education, resources, and facilities that promote life-long behaviors for a healthier, happier, and successful life. The Wellness Course Administrator provides primary support and assistance to the Assistant Director of Student Wellness by running academic wellness classes. Student Wellness offers on 210 sections of elective wellness courses taught by adjunct instructors. This position will coordinate class schedules, instructors, course equipment and grades submission. 

Work days/times: Variable days and times including evenings and weekends required.

Essential Functions

SWELL Course Administration 

  • Research and develop SWELL courses that serve the mission and address the dimensions of Student Wellness=
  • Develop positive collaborative relationships with other departments on campus and organizations in the community to partner with Student Wellness courses
  • Plan and run all SWELL courses including facilities, equipment, instructors, and registration
  • Evaluate and assess SWELL courses, initiatives, and learning outcomes
  • Promote the SWELL  courses to students at New Student Orientation, Foundations of Leadership Conference, International Student Orientation, etc.
  • Coordinate marketing and student outreach efforts including the department website, social media accounts, and area branding.
  • Ensure students are aware of department offerings and provide support to department service areas. 
  • Maintain current knowledge of Student Wellness literature, trends, and issues
  • Attend conferences and workshops for professional associations related to Student Wellness and Educational Programs
  • Conduct assessments of SWELL courses and learning outcomes 
  • Review requests and develop partnership opportunities to research SWELL classes and participants
  • Evaluate and recommend training and development of SWELL instructors
  • Conduct interest surveys and review SWELL class enrollments to ensure that SWELL class offerings are consistent with student interests
  • Coordinate SWELL course schedules, instructors and facilities
  • Ensure course space and equipment needs are met
  • Post, interview and hire SWELL Instructors
  • Conduct assessments of SWELL courses and learning outcomes 
  • Review and develop SWELL partnerships and vendor agreements
  • Evaluate and recommend training and development of SWELL instructors
  • Conduct interest surveys and review SWELL class enrollments to ensure that SWELL class offerings are consistent with student interests

Support Student Wellness Department 

  • Assist in variety of programming, outreach and facility efforts
  • Collaborate and help develop department policy and procedures.
  • Provide ongoing, semester and annual updates on pertinent measures of success, including participation, assessment data, financial status and area priorities.

Education/Experience

Preferred:

  • B.S. Degree in related field or 2 years of wellness/Higher Ed experience

Skills, abilities, knowledge, licenses, certifications:

  • Recreation product knowledge of acquiring, maintaining, and repairing equipment and managing supplies¿Required
  • Technical aptitude for course management and understanding university systems-- Preferred
