Position Summary

UNM’s Facilities Management (FM) is looking to hire a Supervisor of Fiscal Services to join our FM division and oversee the day-to-day operational demands of FM-Accounting. The qualified candidate will provide technical leadership and oversight to, and participate in the overall management of a specified accounting and/or fiscal support activity located within the centralized finance and administration function of a major University component. They will provide direction, administrative leadership, and integrated technical advice/consultation to client constituencies in support of related program activities.

FM-Accounting serves as a resource for the entire FM department, consisting of about 350 employees. The following is a list of some of the activities provided by the FM-Accounting unit: billing and rates development, purchasing, payroll processing, inventory, budget development & tracking, journal vouchers, and account reconciliation & tracking.

Conditions of Employment
Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree, successful completion of at least 15 credit hours of university-level accounting through intermediate accounting; at least 3 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in business with accounting or finance emphasis
  • At least 5 years of related experience supervising multiple levels of staff
  • Prior experience directly related to designing and implementing evaluation control processes
  • Prior experience directly related to overseeing monthly transactions relating to financial reporting
