Position Description:

The University of Iowa, Department of Internal Medicine, Division of General Internal Medicine, is seeking a board-certified/board-eligible physician in Hospice and Palliative Medicine to join as faculty in the Section of Supportive and Palliative Care, which manages the Interprofessional Palliative Care inpatient consult service, the Palliative Care Unit (6 beds), the Palliative Care Clinic and the HPM fellowship. The Palliative Program is well supported by UIHC, vibrant and poised for growth.


The academic appointment will be at the rank of Assistant Professor or Associate Professor level in either in the Clinical Track or Tenure Track commensurate with experience. Call is required.

Education Requirement:

Candidates must have an MD or equivalent degree.

Required Qualifications:

This position requires completion of an ACGME-accredited Residency Program.


Candidates must have excellent communication skills. 

Certifications:

Board-certified/board-eligible physician in Hospice and Palliative Medicine.

Desirable Qualifications:

A demonstrated experience promoting an inclusive culture in the workforce and academic environment is desired.
