Embark on a key role as a Revenue Cycle Manager at the College of Dentistry, where you will play a vital part in the institution's financial operations. This role entails a unique blend of instructional responsibilities, daily oversight of essential business functions, and supervision of staff. You'll be a resource for claim submission, Accounts Receivable management, cash collection, and financial counseling. Beyond the routine, your influence extends to insurance verification and day-to-day operations of the College of Dentistry Business Office. Lead and guide a dedicated team of approximately eight staff members, ensuring operational continuity in cashiering, insurance registration, and bad debt collection. Responsibilities:

Financial Counseling:

· Advise on insurance coverage and patient costs.

· Secure down payments.

· Optimize insurance benefits for extended treatments.

· Manage cash collection process to ensure compliance with U of I guidelines.

· Daily posting of patient and insurance payments, allocation of deposits and monitoring of payments.

· Resolve payment issues and ensure backup support.

Training and Supervision:

· Deliver training programs on revenue cycle management.

· Provide feedback, coaching, and training to team members.

· Assist in hiring and training new Business Office staff.

· Conduct yearly performance appraisals.

· Process bi-weekly payroll.

Collaboration and Communication

· Collaborate with peers, co-workers, customers, hospital departments, and external agencies.

· Educate students re: insurance verification, benefits, and documentation.

· Act as liaison to communicate changes and updates through approved leaderships channels for all team members .

Medicaid Eligibility and Patient Services:

· Detect Medicaid eligibility.

· Address patient inquiries and resolve complaints.

Resource and Process Management:

· Serve as a resource for correct business processes.

· Approve student lab order when required down payment is secured.

· Ensure phone system efficiency.

· Direct staffing and monitor call volume.

Salary: $57,314 to commensurate (Pay Grade: 4A)

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm

May require occasional overtime.

Work Location: On-Site

Required Qualifications:

· Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.

· 1 year relevant medical or dental revenue cycle experience.

· Health and/or dental care reimbursement experience.

· Health and/or dental claims experience.

· Understanding and adherence to the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).

· Supervisory experience to include performance management and performance improvement, preferably in a healthcare business office.

· Relevant fast-paced, high-volume customer service experience.

· Experience utilizing active conflict management/resolution skills and de-escalation techniques.

· Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

Desirable:

· Excellent time management techniques, demonstrating the ability to adapt and handle multiple competing priorities.

· Experience training and developing instructional materials and affiliated learning aids, preferably in a dental/healthcare environment.

· Experience in a dental practice.
