The Manager provides oversight of the Professional, Continuing, and Extended Education (PCE) Student Services. This entails advocacy and departmental representation, program and processes oversight, and management of staff, projects, and initiatives. Advocates inside and out of the organization for the post-traditional and non-credit learner experience and advises internal stakeholders and university leaders about technology, processes, and policies creating barriers for success. Leads efforts to actualize unit objectives and oversees analysis of relevant data and summary impact reports to guide growth, improvement, and/or sustainability of programs and services. Grows and cultivates a high-performing, diverse team through thoughtful hiring, onboarding, coaching and mentorship practices. 

Duties and Responsibilities

40% Actualizes the PCE objectives and key results for student services. Crafts specific learner success plans and operational processes for corporate, community and university partnerships. Leads team in executing and evaluating student services, leveraging data to inform strategic improvements and innovation. Maintains operational alignment to university admissions and advising structures and processes.

30% Fosters expanded University and community partnerships and collaborations by engaging in university committees, policy working groups, and business development discussions with external stakeholders. Escalates and proposes solutions for known or emerging barriers to PCE learner success. Serves in the College secretary role representing Ohio State Online. Represents PCE advising in broader university advising community.

30% Hires, coaches, supervises, and provides performance evaluations for assigned staff members. Establishes and monitors student to staff ratios. Creates processes for business continuity amidst staff turnover. Forecasts staffing needs alongside PCE growth projections. Cultivates a strong, healthy team culture aligned with Ohio State Core Values.

Supervises: 4 or more staff members who provide students services for PCE learners. Supervisory responsibilities to expand by ratio of students served and operational need.

Education and Experience

Required: Bachelor's degree in education, communication, marketing, business administration or related discipline. 4-8 years’ experience in academic advising/administration. 

Desired: Master's degree in education. Demonstrated ability to evolve to advanced responsibilities with university-wide scope and proactive leadership in previous roles
