Summer Performance Program Group Leader

Job Description:

The Summer Performance Program in Valencia is looking for 4 Group Leaders, providing general student, programmatic, and logistical support for participants for the duration of the program.

Employment Dates:  July 9-July 26, 2024 (program dates July 15-July 26,2024)

Type of Position: Full time temporary 

Eligibility Requirements:

●      Berklee Valencia alumni, including recent graduates from July 2024

●      Must be able to work in Europe /Spain

●      Must speak English

●      Must be in Valencia, able to work in person. Responsible for own housing

●      Must be available for entire Program dates + one week prior

●      Outgoing, dynamic and overall willingness to connect and interact with participants

Preferred Qualifications:

●      Musical background and performance experience

●      Former participant of the Spain Summer Performance Program

●      Camp counseling experience and/or experience working with students ages 15-22

●      Spanish speaking

●      Experience working with production, lights and sound equipment

Job Responsibilities:

●      Assist with Summer Program preparation one week prior to program start/arrival date 

●      Responsible for a cohort of participants (30-40) of a wide range of ages and serve as first point of contact for participants for questions regarding day-to-day logistics and getting around the city

●      Plan and lead extracurricular activities outside class time during lunch and evenings to help participants bond with each other and help them to engage with the Valencia and Berklee community. Sample activities include jam sessions or open mic nights, Spanish language circles, city outings etc. 

●      Assist Program Director with logistical support regarding classes, activities, and final performance

●      Additional training and/or documentation may be required
