Position Summary

The position reports to the Director of the Child and Family Development Center and assists in the care and instruction of children 6 weeks to 5 years of age in an NAEYC accredited laboratory program.

This position will help prepare and implement a developmentally appropriate curriculum, assist in the planning and implementation of daily routines, and assist in daily preparation and maintenance of the Center’s learning environment.

Child Development Associate credential, 1 year early childhood certification, AA degree or equivalent course work in early childhood education, child development or psychology required. Experience in inclusive settings is helpful. Applicant should be able to create a positive, caring relationship with the children and a good working relationship with coworkers. Good verbal and written communication skills; flexibility in working with parents, college faculty and practicum students from diverse cultural backgrounds is also necessary.
Physical requirements: Standing, walking, stooping, sitting, crouching, bending. Must be able to lift and carry children up to 50 pounds safely. All candidates are subject to a Criminal Background Investigation prior to any offer of employment. The candidate is responsible for paying the Criminal Background fee.
