Job Description

The University of Nevada, Reno is seeking to hire a Club Sport Student Supervisor for the Fitness & Recreational Sports Department. The Club Sport Student Supervisor for Field Operations is responsible for overseeing and managing the operational aspects of club sports activities, particularly those related to Field Operations.

This position involves coordinating with club sports teams, ensuring the proper use of facilities, and maintaining a safe and organized environment for participants. The Club Sports Student Supervisor of Field Operations will work closely with club leaders, university administration staff, and other stakeholders to promote a positive and inclusive experience for all participants.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the administration of the club sport scheduling & programming

  • Assist in the development and administration of Club Sports policies

  • Assist in the semester program assessment and report

  • Assist in the recruiting, hiring and training of Club Sports student support staff

  • Supervise student sport supervisors and maintain sport supervisor work schedules

  • Assist in outdoor field equipment maintenance and inventory

  • Administer club sport participant waiver compliance checks

  • Work with FRS department Programming and Social Media team/student staff to ensure promotion of competitive club sports programming and operations

  • Monitor and organize Pack Life form submissions:

    • New clubs/club recognition forms

    • Current club renewals

    • Home practice schedule submissions

    • Home & away game/competition schedule submissions
       

  • Work with ASUN sport commissioner when needed

  • Attend club sport council meetings when needed

  • Maintain group facility use schedules through department scheduling system

  • Attend all home club sporting events (weekend and some weekdays)

  • Assist with creating invoices for staffing cost for Club Sport home games and events

  • Assist with research related to club sports programs

  • Attend Bi- Weekly club sports meeting with Club Sport Administrators

  • Daily operational tasks as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • Candidate must be enrolled at the University of Nevada, Reno

  • Candidate must have effective written and verbal communication skills

  • Candidate must have proficiency in use of a personal computer and current software applications including but not limited to: Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint, and email)

  • Candidate must have knowledge on the use of technology as it pertains to duties

  • Candidate must have organizational and customer service skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Candidate has experience in Sport and Fitness facility operations and program familiarity, intramural sports, club sports, and experience in risk management as it pertains to area of work.

Schedule

Expected hours to work per week: Up to 20

Position works a varied schedule that aligns with club sport programming schedules.

  • Spring & Fall semester work (mandatory)

  • Monday through Friday and weekends (mandatory)

  • Summer semester work (if available)

  • On-call dates and special events
