The Student Success – University Academic Advisement Center at Jackson State University is accepting applications for its Student Success System Administrator position.

Qualifications


Minimum Required Education
Earned MA or MS or Higher in a relevant field from an accredited institution.
Minimum Required Experience
A minimum of five plus (5 +) years of professional experience.
Minimum Required Licenses and/or Certifications
None.
Qualifications
  • Must possess a positive attitude towards student success and University retention initiatives.
  • Familiarity with sophisticated software programs including desktop database applications. Coursework in and/or experience with statistical analysis (e.g. SPSS, SAS).
  • Experience with assessment of student learning.
  • Demonstrated superior customer/student service skills and ability to work collaboratively with a variety of diverse constituents including parents, faculty, staff, and administrators.
  • Experience working with underrepresented populations

  • Ability to use Banner, EAB Navigate Systems, Microsoft Programs (Outlook Calendar, Word, Excel, Power Point), Blackboard, and all other useful systems within technical field of expertise.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
The following are the functions essential to performing this job.
  • Conduct new student orientation workshops on the EAB and develop and implement a plan to have information automated into the EAB system during new student orientation.
  • Work collaboratively with departments and colleges/schools to drive process improvement and document the measurable results of those improvement efforts.
  • Develop presentations and communications plans on current systems for users, deans, assistant/associate deans, department heads, and other appropriate constituents.
  • Create, maintain, and execute EAB SSC Campus platform training for new and continuing users. Establish training team and participate in communication and delivery of training.
  • Perform data analysis and utilization reports, including, referral patterns, outcomes, success marker notification patterns and other key metrics, in partnership with Institutional Research Planning and Analysis (IRPA). Data analytics will be performed on available administrative data and will be used to identify opportunities for process, procedure, and/or policy improvements that will enhance student retention and timely graduation.
  • Guide workflow development, to include the EAB SSC Campus platform and other advising or student services technologies.
  • Provide information on best practices and seek input from EAB consultants, EAB Implementation Council members, EAB Leadership Team members, and other internal or external experts to ensure efficient and effective practices.
  • Develop and maintain a current understanding of national best practices in student advising and student services systems and use of EAB and DSU systems; operating practices within internal colleges, departments and programs; and emerging initiatives to bolster student success.
  • Harmonize and execute outreach campaign plans to ensure high risk students are receiving support and assistance in a coordinated manner.
  • Oversee troubleshooting process of the EAB system and work with the system Coordinator.
