Student Services Specialist

Stanford University’s Office of Accessible Education (OAE) is seeking a Student Services Specialist . This position will provide administrative and operational support to OAE staff and resolve routine issues using general guidelines and standards or precedents as reference. This is a 2.5-year fixed term position and will report to Accommodations and Operations Manager.

The Office of Accessible Education (OAE) is the campus entity designated to work with Stanford students with disabilities, at both the undergraduate and graduate levels (including the professional schools). The OAE provides an array of support services, accommodations, and programs to remove barriers to full participation in the life of the University.

The mission of the OAE is to promote an accessible and inclusive environment for all students with disabilities. Through both academic and housing accommodations, we work to mitigate physical and attitudinal barriers that students might face. We are dedicated to supporting students with disabilities to give them the opportunity to perform at their highest academic potential.

Minimum & Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate degree and one year of relevant experience, or combination of education and relevant experience. 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.     
  • Basic computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Basic office administration skills.
  • Ability to learn compliance with legal, financial, and university policies and external regulations.
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask.
  • Understand financial transactions.
  • Bachelor’s degree is preferred but not required.
  • Previous experience working with students in an academic institution is preferred.
  • Prior Stanford experience is strongly preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Frequently sit, perform desk-based computer tasks.
  • Occasionally stand, walk, twist, use fine manipulation, grasp, use a telephone, write by hand, sort and file paperwork, lift, carry, push, and pull objects that weigh up to 10 pounds.

Working Conditions:

·      The OAE is located on the historic, main Stanford campus; work will be onsite Monday – Friday, (with some evenings and rare weekends).

·      There’s potential to work remotely once a week in the future.

The expected pay range for this position is $29.81 per hour. to $35.33 per hour.
