Department Summary
HOPE is a UNT Dallas program supported by a five-year federal grant awarded to
UNT Dallas from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Administration (SAMHSA). This grant is focused to provide Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) training to a large audience of individuals so that they can recognize the signs and symptoms of mental illness and identify resources available in the community. The Research Assistant (RA) will coordinate the training programs to the target populations consistent with best practices. He/she will enroll participants in the training course, communicate with them, assist them in registering and completing the prework, and assits the Instructors during the reaining sessions. The RA will work with a variety of partners and stakeholders to plan and execute grant-related activities including training, programevaluation, and outreach events across the DFW metroplex. He/she may be assigned additional tasks to achieve related goals of the program HOPE.
Position Summary
• He/she will enroll participants in the training course, communicate with them, assist them in registering and completing the prework, and assits the Instructors during the reaining sessions.
• Research and collects data through complex techniques and procedures, Qualtrics survey, library research, structured interviews or other project specific methodology.
• Interprets, synthesizes and analyzes data.
• Schedules, organizes and reports on status of research activities.
• Meets with faculty supervisor on regular basis to maintain ongoing communication regarding the quality of the assistant’s performance.
• Performs other related duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications
· Currently enrolled UNT Dallas undergraduate student with good academic standing.
- A minimum GPA of 3.2
- Excellent oral and written communications skills
· Excellent detail-oriented individual
· Excellent multi-tasking, scheduling and coordinating abilities
· Demonstrate excellent technology skills
· Demonstrate excellent working knowledge of MS Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
· Ability to speak to both large and small groups of people and interact with individuals from diverse backgrounds
· Must be able to work independently as well as part of a larger team
· Must be comfortable with maintaining confidential and/or sensitive information
Preferred Qualifications
Bilingual (with oral and written skills in Spanish and English) is a highly preferred skill for the position.
