ORGANIZATIONAL SUMMARY:
The Student Success division at the University of South Florida, is comprised of 61 departments, providing students with academic support, engagement opportunities, health & wellness services and enhancement of the educational experience.

The Office of Undergraduate Studies (UGS) works in partnership with the academic colleges in the development, review and enhancement of the undergraduate programs to assist faculty to provide outstanding undergraduate education for students. The members of the UGS team work with faculty to establish and administer academic policies, assist with undergraduate curriculum development and review, and support proposals for new and revised programs and courses through the various approval processes. In addition to assisting with the academic programs offered by the colleges, Undergraduate Studies offers a number of academic programs. Undergraduate Studies also delivers and supports student outreach and programming for various student populations in conjunction with the university's student success goals.
POSITION SUMMARY:
This position supports the ROTC programs at USF. It is responsible for program planning, training, development, and all HR aspects of the ROTC program, including hiring / on-boarding student employees and coordinating the hiring and on-boarding of the ROTC faculty. This position also serves as the main contact for catalog updates and curriculum updates for the ROTC programs. It also manages all academic aspects of ROTC programs including scheduling courses, certifying commissioning for graduating students, and permitting students for courses. It is also responsible for assisting in the coordination of the ROTC commissioning ceremonies.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Human Resources: managing hiring, training, on-boarding and orientation of new ROTC instructors and commanding officers; manages hiring, training, and supervision of student employees
Academic Support: track student progress and grades throughout students' academic career; provide permits to students for registering for courses; schedule and staff
ROTC courses; confirm all final grades in order to prepare commissioning paperwork for graduating students; assist crosstown (nondegree seeking students) in gaining access to student technology
Curriculum: coordinates any curricular change needed for ROTC programs; submits ROTC catalog changes
Performs other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree, with at least one year of experience in a student affairs or student personnel position; or a master's degree in Higher Education, College Student Personnel, or Sports Recreation Administration. FLSB 1310 equivalency: 4 years of directly related work experience may be substituted for the bachelor's degree requirement. 6 years of directly related work experience may be substituted for the master's degree requirement.
PREFERRED:
A deep experience in working with the various US Military branches especially as it pertains to training future officers is preferred. Also, experience with USF systems and technology for both student success and HR is preferred.
