Position Summary
The Student Lab Assistant for Interior Design assists faculty and staff in their duties to support the daily operations of the Interior Design Department.
This is a student position open to current UIW students who may be hired through the Federal Work-Study Program or student employment. 
Essential Functions
  • Monitor, maintain, clean up, and organize resource/computer lab spaced;
  • Follow and enforce all UIW Interior Design rules for conduct in the resource/computer lab spaces;
  • Type, file, answer the phone, assist faculty, staff, and students;
  • May handle chemicals such as toner for Plotter/Printer;
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications


Knowledge Skills and Abilities
  • Familiarity with Word and Excel;
  • Maintain confidentiality and reliability;
  • Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures;
  • Employees shall adhere to all applicable rules and regulations of the University, the Conference, and the NCAA
Required Education
Current UIW student majoring in Interior Design ranked as a Sophomore or higher
This position may be funded by the Federal Work-Study program and is open to UIW students who are approved and eligible to participate in the Federal Work-Study Program. 
Required Work Experience

Preferred Qualifications
  • Office assistant experience;
  • Superior interpersonal and or organizational skills;
  • Knowledge of Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign

Work Hours
Flexible schedule based on UIW course registration, up to 20 hours per week.
Physical Demands
Ability to lift 10lbs or more
