The purpose of this position is to meet the nonimmigrant needs of international students. The Immigration Coordinator will work collaboratively within Office of International Affairs, with colleagues across campus, and with all the necessary federal agencies to serve that purpose. The Immigration Coordinator for students is a member of the International Student and Scholar team. As Designated School Official (DSO) for F-1 students and Alternate Responsible Officer (ARO) for J-1 students, advises international students on maintaining lawful nonimmigrant status through evaluation, analysis and interpretation of federal non-immigrant regulations; advises also on cross-cultural issues and other concerns to increase student success. As DSO and ARO, assists with SEVIS Check-In, SEVIS event creation, reporting, and record keeping as mandated by federal regulations. Supports the academic mission by working collaboratively with academic departments and service units on F-1 and J-1 regulatory issues as they pertain to student success; creates and delivers nonimmigrant-related programs (for example, Curricular Practical Training [CPT] and Optional Practical Training [OPT] workshops) and services to support international students; serves on committees. To be a Designated School Office (DSO), applicants must be a U.S. citizen or U.S. lawful permanent resident.

Minimum Education Required Bachelor's Level Degree

Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree, one year experience working with F-1 and J-1 student visas. Desired: Demonstrated ability to work in a high volume, fast paced environment.

The target hiring range for this job profile is $19.52 - $26.04 The actual salary paid to an individual will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limit to, education, years of experience, internal equity.
