The School of Pharmacy invites resumes for a  Student Experience and Retention Coordinator. The position is full-time, exempt, and contractual with limited benefits. Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications. The position will report to the Associate Dean of Student Affairs.
The Student Retention and Experience Coordinator is a key member of the School of Pharmacy Office of Student Affairs and interacts closely with faculty, administrators, students, and internal and external partners. The Coordinator will provide management and general coordination in the following areas:
  • Student Experience Activities: SPHP annual events and ceremonies, Student Organizations, Student Housing
  • Student Retention Services: Tutoring program, Mentor-mentee program, Student Ambassadors program, Scholarships and Progression documentation, WEPA
Responsibilities
Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Organize and lead several annual events, including but not limited to the annual Orientation Week, White Coat Ceremony, Awards and Pinning Ceremony (in conjunction with the Awards and Scholarship Committee), and Hooding Ceremony (in conjunction with the Awards and Scholarship Committee).
  • In collaboration with the recruitment coordinator and admissions specialist, make room and food arrangements for several admissions-related events, including but not limited to Fall and Spring Open House, On-campus interview sessions, summer camp experiences.
  • In collaboration with the Director of Student Organizations, coordinate student organization events, distribute student organization mail to the organizations.
  • Coordinate activities for the Student Ambassadors Program, Tutoring Program, Mentor, Mentee Program, Locker room assignments.
  • Administer and track graduate student exit survey.
  • Monitor student satisfaction with services and events through surveys and ongoing performance feedback.
  • Collection and analysis of data concerning student experiences and outcomes. Record, monitor, report expenses related to events and services. Regularly report results to the ADSA.
  • Maintain up to date information for the Student Portal.
  • Process, file, and track paperwork related to absences, scholarships, progression, WEPA.
  • Help with student housing needs and questions.
  • Serve as a member of the Awards and Scholarship committee.
  • As needed, answer student/prospective student email questions/ phone calls etc. and in-office visits.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Three years of events coordination and student services experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficiency with office computing (Microsoft Office, inclusive of Word, Excel, and Outlook) and data management skills (e.g., People Soft, PharmCAS, Webadmit).
  • High degree of cultural sensitivity and awareness in working with diverse student population.
  • Valid driver’s license.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree.
  • Prior health/science recruiting experience .
  • Familiarity with a variety of the concepts related to Pharmacy School admissions.

  • Must have strong organizational skills with attention to accuracy and detail.
  • Superb customer service and excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work cooperatively and collegially in a team oriented environment.
