Position Summary Information


Job Description Summary
Provide general admin/office support.
Responsibilities
  • Be prepared to conduct I-9 eVerification meetings via Teams or In-Person with Chapman Student new hires. The amount of I-9 “intakes” ranges from 1 to 20 per day, depending on hiring cycles.
  • Collect and verify various hiring and personnel-related documentation.
  • Assist with customer guidance for personnel documentation questions during and after “intake” sessions.
  • Conduct timely background checks.
  • Follow-up with new hires before, during, and after the I-9 processes to ensure all documentation is complete.
  • Use Chapman’s email, SMS, and Microsoft tools to communicate and follow up.
  • Enter the updated status of each case in PeopleAdmin and help prepare Hiring Proposals.
  • Research information for new hires, including prior employment status with Chapman, applicable school units, federal work-study amounts, and more.
  • Learn Microsoft Bookings software for calendaring.
  • When necessary, communicate daily, sometimes hourly, with teammates in Talent Acquisition, HRIS, Payroll, and other departments.
  • Help with research and data projects using Excel and Word when available
  • Help with documentation projects using Word, PowerPoint, Snipping tools, etc.
  • Assist with Community Service and Talent Acquisition related functions as needed.
Required Qualifications
Little to minimal prior experience. Ability to learn support process. Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.
Desired Qualifications
  • Previous office experience is a plus.
  • Previous CU experience is a plus but not required.
  • Great job for Freshman and Sophomores so you can keep this job throughout Chapman’s educational tenure.
Special Instructions to Applicants
We are hiring student workers to cover scheduling needs. We have flexible schedules, working between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday.
