Student Employment is responsible for all aspects related to the employment of university student staff. This starts with the management of all I-9 processing, tax form distribution, and paycheck dissemination. The unit also maintains, oversees, and administers the hiring processes for on-campus student wage and Federal Work Study (FWS) and off-campus FWS employees, ensures employee data integrity and accuracy, and complies with applicable laws and regulations. Continuing, the unit manages FWS earnings accuracy between Payroll and the Office of Financial Assistance and provides support to department supervisors and employees regarding student employment practices, processes, and employment-related issues.
The Student Employment Associate is responsible for administering the recruiting and onboarding services for student employees at the University. Duties include but are not limited to developing and implementing recruiting and onboarding strategies to ensure compliance with federal and state laws, to maximize resources to efficiently and effectively promptly review and process new postings, hire proposal approvals, offer letter submissions, I-9 completion, and onboarding assignments, and to provide support to student employees, supervisors, and university hiring managers
