Position Summary Information


Job Description Summary
Working under the University Advancement Data Systems Team and reporting to University Advancement Manager of Gift and Constituent Records, the Data Systems Assistant will be responsible for data entry and updating of alumni, donor, and constituent records as well as record maintenance, system auditing and clean-up.
Responsibilities
  • Enter constituent data for all individuals and organizations, including address updates, constituent demographics, and relationship links between records.
  • Maintain constituent category (affinity), student and alumni participation,event attendance, affiliation and mail exclusion codes.
  • Enter returned mail address corrections or other such change of address notification.
  • Work with Gift and Constituent Records Specialist to extract transaction data from the database for record audit purposes.
  • Maintain Data Update Inbox and Affinaquest Cases.
  • Assist in sending out gift receipts and other system-generated mailings.
  • Contribute to identification and resolution of duplicate constituent records as encountered or assigned.
  • General office tasks, such as copying and completing on-campus errands as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and dependability.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, and general computer skills.
  • Ability to think analytically and quickly learn new software.
  • Ability to follow specific instructions and work independently when necessary.
  • Capacity to accept constructive criticism and apply newly acquired skills to assigned tasks.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining deadlines.
  • Ability to handle confidential information appropriately while adhering to the University confidentiality policy.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; demonstrated ability to cooperate in a team-focused environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
