Normal Work Schedule: Varies; Monday - Friday 8:00am to 4:45pm, 15 to 20 hours per week


Note to Applicants: This is a Spring 2024 position, beginning in January and continuing through the end of May, with a possibility of extension into the summer of 2024 and 2024-2025 academic year. To be considered, applicants must submit their resume, Spring 2024 class schedule, and availability.


Job Summary: The Student Assistant will perform a variety of tasks for the Law School Career Services Office. Researches legal job opportunities. Enters job postings into an online database. Assists law students and advisors. Collects data. Creates and updates spreadsheets and documents. Makes and answers phone calls. Conducts research. Files paperwork. Performs other general office duties as assigned.


Additional Department Summary: Pre-law students cannot be considered due to potential conflicts of interest.


Required Minimum Qualifications: UA undergraduate student. Excellent typing skills. Proficient with Microsoft Office software. Excellent phone etiquette. Strict adherence to confidentiality. Strong attention to detail. Ability to work 20 hours per week.


Preferred Qualifications: Data entry experience. Familiarity with Symplicity.


Enrollment Requirements: Applicants must meet enrollment requirements to be eligible for on-campus student employment. Applicants must be enrolled in a UA degree program and meet minimum credit hour requirements during the academic year: Undergraduate Students must be registered for at least 6 credit hours during fall/spring semesters; Graduate Students must be registered for at least 4.5 credit hours during fall/spring semesters; International Students must be registered full-time (Undergraduate = 12 credit hours, Graduate = 9 credit hours) during fall/spring semesters. Enrollment requirements must be maintained for the duration of on-campus employment. Individual hiring departments and programs may also have additional eligibility requirements for employment.
