Job Summary: The Student Assistant provides general office support for the Culverhouse College of Business Dean's Office. Greets and directs guests. Answers phones and routes calls. Creates and updates documents and spreadsheets. Files. Photocopies. Runs errands. Completes various office projects. Assists with front office/receptionist duties during lunchtime hours and absences as back-up to the front office staff. Additional office duties as assigned.


Required Minimum Qualifications: Current University of Alabama undergraduate student seeking a degree in the Culverhouse College of Business. Possess a minimum 2.25 cumulative GPA or higher.


Skills and Knowledge: Excellent typing skills. Proficient with Microsoft Office software. Ability to work independently. Ability to handle confidential information. Ability to complete assigned tasks in a timely manner. Ability to interact and communicate in a professional manner with UA faculty, staff, donors, alumni, and students.


Preferred Qualifications: Experience as a receptionist. Experience in a professional business environment.


Enrollment Requirements: Applicants must meet enrollment requirements to be eligible for on-campus student employment. Applicants must be enrolled in a UA degree program and meet minimum credit hour requirements during the academic year: Undergraduate Students must be registered for at least 6 credit hours during fall/spring semesters; Graduate Students must be registered for at least 4.5 credit hours during fall/spring semesters; International Students must be registered full-time (Undergraduate = 12 credit hours, Graduate = 9 credit hours) during fall/spring semesters. Enrollment requirements must be maintained for the duration of on-campus employment. Individual hiring departments and programs may also have additional eligibility requirements for employment.
