Job Summary
 

The Student Assistant will support the Office of Career and Professional Development as a member of the Career Ambassador Team on the Statesboro Campus beginning Spring 2024.

The Career Ambassadors serve as the front-line staff for students, employers, and other guests in the OCPD. Along with managing front desk duties, they assist in all aspects of planning, creating, implementing, and distributing all marketing, advertisements, and promotional materials for career fairs, networking events, and career programs hosted by the Office of Career and Professional Development.
Student employees cannot work more than 1300 hours in a 12-consecutive month period.


Responsibilities
 
  • Represent the Office of Career and Professional Development at tabling events, career fairs, and other programs
  • Manage the front desk with support from the Director of Operations and other OCPD staff
  • Distribute all advertisements and promotional materials for events to students, alumni, faculty/staff, and employers
  • Help maintain all office social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, & Twitter) by researching resources, creating dynamic posts, and engaging the office's body of followers
  • Assist with student check-in and responding to student questions about the use of career programs, tools, and technology
  • Provide administrative assistance to all OCPD staff
  • Learn how to provide basic resume and interviewing feedback to fellow students

Shift Specifics

  • Up to 15 hours per week
  • Flexible with schedule of availability
  • Shifts available Monday - Friday, 8 AM - 5 PM
  • Priority for students available Tuesdays and Thursdays

Required Qualifications
 

Educational Requirements

  • Must be enrolled in six or more undergraduate credit hours or three or more graduate credit hours at Georgia Southern University.

Proposed Salary
 

$12.00 per hour

This is a non-exempt position paid on a biweekly basis.
