The Flannery O'Connor Institute for the Humanities Student Assistant performs a variety of support duties through close interaction with Administrative staff and faculty and, as needed, with other departments and/or organizations.
The duties and responsibilities of this position require interpersonal and clerical skills and an understanding of effective customer service.
The Flannery O'Connor Institute for the Humanities Student Assistant could function in a number of capacities to support a grant around Oral Histories of Flannery O'Connor.  The students will be expected to produce up to 8 podcast episodes using three existing oral history interviews and use social media to promote and stream via Russell Library podcast.  They will also be expected to transcribe new interviews. 
The student must be able to effectively use (or willing to learn) technology in this role to produce podcasts.  
Also, familiarity with Flannery O'Connor is a plus.

Creating/producing podcasts based on existing interviews - 70 Will work on the production of podcasts.  May transcribe new interviews.

Promoting podcasts on Social Media - 20

Other Required Qualifications
Student enrolled in at least six credit hours as an undergraduate student at Georgia College & State University.
Experience with podcasting and/or social media.

SKILLS
Demonstrated professionalism and dependability.
Demonstrated decision-making and problem-solving skills.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Outstanding customer service skills.
Must be proactive and able to engage with constituency.
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite

Must be a student enrolled in at least six credit hours as an undergraduate student at Georgia College & State University.
