Job Summary
The College of Social Work is looking for a dynamic and creative copywriter skilled in creating captivating content across various platforms, including print literature, email, and in-depth articles. This role is central to producing compelling narratives that enhance the college’s presence through content published on the college’s website, in press releases, promotional materials, newsletters and reports.
In this position, you will explore the core of our college’s initiatives, uncovering and crafting stories of innovative research, awards and achievements, community engagement, student experiences, program growth, and more. Your tasks will involve conducting thorough research and interviews to support the creation of content that spotlights our vibrant community of students, faculty, staff, and larger community.
You will take on the duty of creating content for email newsletters, impact statements, and analyses of research for dissemination to partners, students, faculty, staff, and stakeholders of the CoSW. This task requires you to engage in research and conduct interviews to gather precise and informed details for each area of focus. This position will report to the Communication Managers and support the completion of timely written copy for all projects across the College.

  • Exceptional Writing and Editing: Proficiency in crafting engaging, clear, and grammatically correct content tailored to various audiences and platforms.
  • Creative Storytelling: Ability to tell compelling stories that highlight the college’s achievements, innovations, and the impact of its community.
  • Research and Interviewing: Strong research skills to gather accurate information and conduct interviews that extract insightful details for content creation.
  • Content Strategy: Knowledge of content strategy to ensure that all written material supports the college’s goals and enhances its digital footprint.
  • SEO and Email Marketing: Understanding of basic SEO principles and email marketing strategies to increase visibility and engagement.

  • Current Trends and News: Awareness of current events, trends in social work, and higher education to produce relevant and timely content.
  • Publishing Tools: Proficiency in content management systems (CMS) and other publishing tools used for website content and social media posting.
  • AP style: The candidate must possess proficiency in AP style writing to ensure our communications adheres to University standards.
