The Section of Hematology/Oncology has a proud and long tradition of excellence in research-based patient care and clinical discovery. Ranked among the finest cancer programs in the country, the Section is comprised of nationally and internationally known faculty with expertise in all major types of malignancies, blood disorders, and experimental therapies.

Job Summary
 

The Staff Scientist will lead projects in the laboratory focused on cancer metabolism and chemical biology.

Responsibilities

• Plan, design, develop, and test experimental protocols for research.

• Develop and lead research projects and conduct in vitro and in vivo experiments and analysis of human cancer specimens.

• Collect data, perform data analysis, generate figures and tables to summary the results/data.

• Write scientific research manuscripts, grant applications and reports.

• Present data as posters and oral talks at scientific conferences.

• Collaborate with other laboratories and investigators (within the institution and external).

• Supervise other research staff, junior postdoc fellows, and undergraduate and graduate students.

• Serves as a resource for collecting data and performing analysis. Facilitates and promotes a research project by providing scientific or intellectual information.

• Develops laboratory protocols and training on new techniques. Manage, analyze and make recommendations on complex data sets for research.

• Performs other related work as needed.

Minimum Qualifications
 

Education:

Minimum requirements include a PhD in related field.

Preferred Qualifications

Education:

• Doctoral degree in biological sciences or related field.

Experience:

• Research experience on cancer biology, cell biology, chemical biology, biochemistry, or related fields. 

• Experience in animal models.
