As an important member of our research staff, you will perform a wide range of vital functions.  This position will serve as the subject matter expert in Pharmacogenomics (PGx); performing activities directed at preventing ineffective or harmful initiation of drug therapy, and/or continuation of drug therapy that is not optimal in patients who may be identified with genotypes that have associated actionable drug-gene pairs. The roles and responsibilities relate to leading PGx implementation, providing PGx education to provider and pharmacy staff, and providing patient care that incorporates PGx recommendations in a variety of practice areas both inpatient and outpatient utilizing a global scope of practice. You will:

 

  • Help develop a PGx program including policies and pathways that promote the optimal use of PGx testing
  • Contribute to the development and sustainment of PGx specific clinical decision support
  • Track and report improved patient outcomes

 

Hourly Salary Range: $83.81 – $104.18 (Union represented, step based salary depending on years of experience)

Bargaining Unit: HX – UPTE



  • JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Qualifications

We’re seeking an exceptionally-skilled and compassionate pharmacist with:

 

  • Doctor of Pharmacy degree
  • Current California Pharmacist license
  • Pharmacogenomics certification, or equivalent experience
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to synthesize research protocol directions into an accurate tool that conveys all aspects of dose preparation and administration
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, and prioritizing skills
  • Ability to analyze research protocols and identify necessary equipment, training, materials, and handling directions
