Requirements

Staff Clinician, Counseling and Psychiatric Service - Georgetown University

The primary responsibilities of this position include the delivery of direct clinical services to students (individual, group, telehealth), development of outreach and educational programs focused on eating disorders and body image, crisis intervention, consultation and liaison work with university constituents including deans, student affairs professionals, and hospital/psychiatric staff.

Work Interactions

Direct service to students, consultations to deans and faculty regarding student issues, consultation to other CAPS staff and Student Health Service staff.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Provide individual and group therapy, crisis intervention and consultation to university students.

  • Provide consultation to university offices, faculty and staff.

  • Provide clinical services and outreach and prevention programming to campus community on eating disorders/body image concerns.

  • Provide supervision to postdocs and externs; Note and document items when needed, attend meetings, and other responsibilities as assigned by administrative supervisor and/or Director.

Qualifications

  • Doctorate in clinical or counseling psychology or a related field, or an MSW.

  • Licensed in DC as a social worker upon date of hire. Licensed or license eligible in DC as a psychologist (if not yet licensed, then licensure must be within one year of start date.

  • Preference for previous college mental health experience, as well as demonstrated experience working with eating disorders/body image concerns.
