The Department of Pathology and Cell Biology is looking for a Staff Associate to work with omic data in the laboratory of Dr. Andrew Teich.  The successful applicant will work on projects related to Alzheimer's disease and related dementias.  The applicant is expected to work semi-independently and report to Dr. Teich weekly.  The applicant will work with other lab members, and should be able to collaborate with others.

Job Function:

  • Analyzing data – 45%
  • Preparing graphs and tables – 20%
  • Maintaining laboratory computer systems and managing data files – 10%
  • Presenting data – 10%
  • Preparing manuscripts – 10%
  • Other duties as assigned- 5%

 

Lab Mission/Purpose:

The Teich laboratory researches neurodegenerative diseases of aging using generated data from human tissues and biofluids, as well as tissue models.  We are primarily interested in synaptic dysfuntion and the immune response in Alzheimer's disease.

 

Minimum Skills Required:

  • Proficiencey with the R programming language; prior experience working with omic datasets.

Minimum Education Requirements:

 

  • Bachelor's degree in scientific field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of laboratory research experience preferred after obtaining Bachelor's degree. 

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • Master's degree
  • Prior publications with omic data

Hiring Salary Range: 

 

Staff Associate I: $62,400- $62,400
