The staff associate will work with the Principal Investigator and the Senior Clinical Coordinator to complete the blood drawing and structured neuropsychological assesment, family history interviews and medical examinations required for this project. When necessary, she/he will travel to the site for completion of the blood drawing and clinical assessment, and will insure the transfer of blood to the Human Genetics Resources Core Laboratory at Columbia University or other US sites. Weekly meetings/reports are also part of the duties.

  • Knowledge of the research subject specifically within own function on the team  20%

  • Solves problems in moderately complex situations, analyzing  possible solutions based on education and experience using judgment and precedent  30%

Decision Making/Autonomy

  • Carries out research projects with limited PI supervision both collaboratively and independently 20%

Technical Expertise

  • Operates and maintains equipment, computers, software programs and research tools in support of the project as well as technical phlebotomy experience 25%

Communication

  • Summarizes and explains information to others. May contribute to publications 5%

Bachelor's degree in specific research field and 4 years experience preferred.
