Position Details

The College of Natural and Health Sciences at The University of Tampa has an opening for a Staff Assistant I in the Departments of Health Sciences and Human Performance and Sport Management. This position will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the office in a fast-paced environment and provide customer service to students, faculty and staff. This position reports to the Dean. 
Responsibilities
1. Provide administrative support to department chairs and faculty. 
2. Assist with planning of special events. 
3. Type and photocopy exams, quizzes, syllabi and other course related documents. 
4. Sort and distribute mail. 
5. Process department expenditures using Workday Financial.
6. Maintain and order departmental supplies. 
7. Maintain records of department funds (revenue and expenses).

8. Works closely with student workers.

9. Helps maintain some departmental equipment and technologies.

10. Contribute to a work environment that encourage knowledge of, respect for, and development of skills to engage with those of other cultures and backgrounds.

Requirements

1. A high school diploma required. 
2. Two (2) years skilled clerical experience. 
3. Proficiency with MS Office. 
4. Working knowledge of office equipment. 
5. Ability to handle multiple tasks. 
6. Demonstrated good oral, interpersonal and organizational skills as well as the ability to establish priorities and manage time wisely.  

7. Knowledge of or the ability to learn quickly The University of Tampa software programs such as Workday and Microsoft Office.

8. Willingness to embrace new technologies and innovative organizational practices.

Work Schedule

Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Summer:  Monday-Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Evenings and weekends may be required
