Summary

The University of Michigan-Dearborn (UM-Dearborn) invite applications for the position of Staff Assistant for Sports Information. This position will be responsible for assisting the Sports Information Director (SID) and playing a key role on the team that is responsible for the promotion of 16 sports. Responsibilities include assisting with game day operations including taking statistics, writing postgame recaps and updating the UM-Dearborn Athletics Website. Hours required for this position will be 20-25 hours per week and must be able to work nights and weekends.


Responsibilities*
  • Assist with game day operations, including taking statistics, photography, writing postgame recaps and other duties as assigned including the possibility of game day administration
  • Help maintain UM-Dearborn Athletics Website
  • Support departments social media efforts
  • Oversee game-day press box, ticket personnel and media/radio accommodations
  • Report statistical information and results to the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference Office and NAIA.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by SID, Assistant Director of Athletics and Director of Athletics and Recreation.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Previous experience within a collegiate athletic environment
  • Demonstrate ability to interact with various constituents including student-athletes from diverse backgrounds.
  • Excel in verbal and written communication
  • Working knowledge of rules and statistics for all sports offered at UM-Dearborn
  • Knowledge of AP styling

Desired Qualifications*
  • Experience with website management
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Lightroom, InDesign)
  • Photography and video experience.

Work Schedule

Individuals must be able to work evenings and weekends.
