About the Opportunity
JOB SUMMARY
The Senior Salesforce Developer is a highly proficient Salesforce developer and analyst, playing a pivotal role in driving technology solutions across the University.
You will be responsible for the end-to-end development and support of the Salesforce application implementing best-in-class solutions. You'll work closely with engineering, product, architecture, security, and operations to apply technical efficiency across the Salesforce Platform for the Corporate Partnership domain.
Key responsibilities include the following:

  • Lead the software development efforts on the NU Corporate Salesforce instance, and proactively engage with teams to promote process and organizational improvements that enhance overall effectiveness.
  • Design, develop, test, and implement technology solutions in the Corporate Salesforce instance.
  • Recommend and facilitate best-fit solutions through accurate assessment of workflow, data, and other process-related problems.
  • Translate requirements defined in business, functional, and use case documents and operational artifacts into solutions on the Salesforce Platform.
  • Provide direct support to both technical and non-technical users including but not limited to end user issues, enhancement requests, troubleshooting various system problems, and other administrative needs within the Salesforce Platform.
  • Liaison between Enterprise Architecture, Engineering, Product, Infrastructure & Operations, and Digital Risk & Security on the planning and execution of product delivery activities.
  • Assist in the creation and delivery of related technical documentation.
  • Develop relationships that promote trust and increase efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Develop and maintain a network of industry knowledge; perform research on industry trends, analyzes trends and make strategic and tactical recommendations.
  • Ensure system, technical and product architectures are aligned with business objectives.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science/engineering or in a related field.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with large-scale ERP systems and CRM applications, with direct experience using Salesforce.
  • Demonstrated experience developing flows, lightning components, and Visualforce pages.
  • Strong salesforce product knowledge with service cloud.
  • Experience supporting partnerships in a higher education institution preferred.
  • Ability to understand large-scale systems within the landscape and/or constraints of a multi-constituent environment and appreciate that such complexities may require alternative approaches to system implementations.
  • Hands-on experience in Agile software delivery models (SAFe, Kanban, Scrum, etc.).
  • Experience with Salesforce Object Query Language (SOQL)/ Salesforce Object Search Language (SOSL) strongly preferred.
  • Experience with relational database management systems required along with strong SQL programming skills preferred.
  • Salesforce-related Apex coding, or Java equivalent required.
  • Strong understanding of Apex design patterns.
  • Platform App Builder & Developer I Salesforce Certifications preferred.
  • Knowledge and work experience with application integrations, particularly REST & SOAP API capabilities.
  • Experience working with advanced triggers with multiple functions, front-end development, and building beyond the standard Salesforce UI.
  • Experience working with App Exchange packages and with software to deploy code and changes in Salesforce environment (or) equivalent environment with Git or other external Salesforce deployment tools is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of environment management, release management, code versioning best practices, and deployment methodologies.
  • Experience designing and building on a salesforce platform.
  • Experience working with large data sets and complex security requirements.
  • Strong analysis skills required.
  • Ability to work effectively with people with differing levels of technical knowledge.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (both oral and written).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Understanding, adoption, and utilization of declarative customizations versus programmatic customizations.
