The University of Miami is currently seeking a Sr Patient Access Representative to work at the UM Hospital & Clinics (UMHC) in Miami. The incumbent confirms, verifies and clears all patients scheduled for an MRI exam within UHealth.   Further, the Senior Patient Access Representative assumes responsibility for documenting all necessary data that will facilitate MR services rendered by the department.  Work with Chief MR Technologists at all location and UHealth Connect scheduling to achieve efficient utilization.

CORE JOB FUCNTIONS

  • Obtains, confirms, and enters for demographic, financial, and clinical information necessary for scheduled MR patient 24-48 hours prior to MRI appointment.

  • Collaborates with Radiology Central Scheduling department to manage over-booking/under-booking, identify add-on and reschedule exams.

  • Maintains appropriate records, files, and accurate documentation in the system of record.

  • Verify that the physician order coincide with the study being performed.

  • Request written information such as operative reports; implant cards, mammogram films etc. from patients or other healthcare facilities to obtain clearance prior to the scan.

  • Reports status of MR schedule to Chief Technologist and/or Manager.

  • Collaboration between confirmation team, Chief Tech and Radiologist is imperative to obtain clearance sign-off.

  • Recommends new approaches to management for enhancing performance and productivity.

  • Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS

Education:
High school diploma or equivalent


Experience:
Minimum 3 years of relevant experience
