Sr. Clinical Research Coordinator - CLIN RSCH CRD SR NEX
Job Summary
This position will work with the PIs, other department personnel, and sponsors to support and provide guidance on the administration of the regulatory coordination, compliance, personnel, and other related aspects of Otolaryngology clinical studies. Clinical research coordinators are expected to work independently with general supervision.

Minimum Qualifications

  • SOCRA certification.
  • Experience in starting and maintaining clinical trials and research projects according to the requirements of the NIH, IRB, Office of Human Research Protection, sponsor guidelines, University and department policies.
  • Experience with human subject's research protocols, federal regulatory guidelines, biohazard handling techniques, and HIPAA.
  • Knowledge and understanding of oncology and disease processes including head and neck cancer.
  • Experience in starting and maintaining clinical trials and research projects according to the requirements of the NIH, IRB, Office of Human Research Protection, sponsor guidelines, University and department policies.
  • Experience with human subjects research protocols, federal regulatory guidelines, biohazard handling techniques, and HIPAA.
  • Experience with creating and negotiating budgets and conducting billing review and submitting of invoices to sponsors.
  • Analytical skills to evaluate information, practices and procedures, formulate logical and objective conclusions and make recommendations for effective work flow solutions.
  • Administrative skills and ability to exercise good judgment, initiative and resourcefulness in making decisions.
  • Strong oral communication and interpersonal skills to effectively correspond with physicians, patients, clinical staff, and other health care professionals.
  • Good writing skills including ability to compose reports and correspondence while utilizing correct grammar, spelling and punctuation as well as clearly documenting research data onto forms.
  • Display organizational skills and attention to detail so large volumes of records can be accurately maintained.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize workload to meet deadlines and accomplish tasks timely.
  • Knowledge of Word, Excel, Epic EMR, RedCap, Qualtrics, Oncore and CCSRC Velos database. Ability to use the internet for research purposes. Experience with online BOX and Onedrive databases.
  • Familiarity of medical terminology is preferred.
  • Ability to work cooperatively as a team member in a diverse workplace.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in biology, public health, or related field preferred.

Department Description
The Department of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery provides comprehensive services to more than 35,000 patients per year. Otolaryngology has 20+ faculty and other academics, 25+ volunteer faculty, and over 100 academic and clinical staff spanning research programs that include head and neck cancer, skull base surgery, facial plastic and reconstructive surgery, audiology, voice, and dental care.
