The D. Dan and Betty Kahn Health Care Pavilion is a 12-story hospital that will house 264 private rooms capable of converting to intensive care; a state-of-the-art neurosciences center; and high-level, specialty care services for cardiovascular and thoracic patients, along with advanced imaging. The 690,000-square-foot hospital which also features 20 surgical and three interventional radiology suites is being constructed adjacent to the Frankel Cardiovascular Center, with plans for bridge and tunnel connections to existing inpatient care facilities. The anticipated opening of the new D. Dan and Betty Kahn Health Care Pavilion is fall 2025.

Michigan Medicine Perioperative Services is looking for a Senior (or Intermediate) Application Security & Development Analyst to join the Perioperative Informatics team. This position has primary responsibility for researching, suggesting, and implementing cybersecurity best practices for vendor and custom applications used in Perioperative Spaces. This role is also primarily responsible for completing Information Assurance documentation as required by Michigan Medicine. Secondarily, this position will work with other engineers within the Perioperative Informatics team to develop custom applications and test packages.

Perioperative Informatics provides service to the Operating Rooms, Post Anesthesia Care Units, Central Sterile Processing Department, Perioperative Supply Chain, and related patient care areas. We are a team of trusted partners who help to streamline business practices, improve patient safety, and develop quality improvement solutions. This position allows for remote work. Occasional in-office work will be required.

  • Complete the Michigan Medicine Information Assurance (cybersecurity) documentation and approval processes for technology solutions.
  • Research, suggest, and implement cybersecurity best practices for vendor and custom applications.
  • Review existing applications and correct security flaws (including by modifying source code).
  • Develop automated test packages and perform code reviews for application developers.
  • Plan, develop, and maintain applications that solve problems for our customers.
  • Participate in project meetings and other related team projects.
  • Maintain version control for developed applications.
  • Act as technical lead for large scale projects.
  • (Optional) Create and maintain reports, BI dashboards, and data extracts.

Senior Level: 

  • Bachelors degree in computer science, cybersecurity, engineering, or a related field
  • At least 5 years of professional programming, cybersecurity, or Information Assurance experience 

Intermediate Level: 

  • Bachelors degree in computer science, cybersecurity, engineering, or a related field
  • At least 2 years of professional programming, cybersecurity, or Information Assurance experience 

Both: 

  • Experience with a test automation framework.
  • Knowledge of at least one of Object-Oriented Language. We use C#.
  • Experience with front-end development using HTML, CSS, and modern JavaScript.
  • Strong knowledge of SQL
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience working for or collaborating with an Information Assurance (cybersecurity) department.
  • Experience reviewing and developing C# code.
  • Experience using front-end frameworks such as React or Angular.
  • Experience with SSIS.
  • Experience with version control.
  • Experience with Tableau or another BI framework.

This position may be underfilled at a lower classification depending on the qualifications of the selected candidate.
