Essential Job Duties

NC State Sports Nutrition is seeking Graduate Assistants to add to our team. This position will allow the Graduate Assistants to gain experience working with a Division 1 sports nutrition program. The Sports Nutrition GAs will assist in providing nutrition services to all intercollegiate sports teams under the direction of the Director of Sports Nutrition. The Graduate Assistants will also assist with the fueling stations and other day to day operations of the Sports Nutrition Department.

Responsibilities include:
• Promote the NC State Sports Nutrition Philosophy
• Assist with day to day operations of various fueling stations (stocking, deliveries, inventory management)
• Assist with body composition testing using the Bod Pod
• Assist with hydration testing as needed
• Interact with Sports Medicine and Strength & Conditioning for assigned teams
• Assist with nutritional needs for pre/post training, travel nutrition, meal ordering, hydration for assigned teams
• Develop nutrition presentations for student athletes
• Develop educational material and cooking demonstrations for student athletes
• Research current sports nutrition topics

Minimum Experience/Education

Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition or related field

Departmental Required Skills

Proficient skills with Microsoft Office

Ability to work non-traditional workweek hours including holidays and weekends

Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education

Experience with athletes in a collegiate setting and/or working in a sporting environment

Knowledge of NCAA and ACC rules and regulations

ServSafe Certified

Required License or Certification
