Sports Media Coordinator

STATUS: Full-time/Exempt

REPORTS TO: Associate Athletic Director

CAMPUS: Wisconsin Market

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Sports Media Coordinator will be responsible for evaluating and implementing creative and effective strategies to improve promotional and recruitment opportunities for the Athletic Department. Through utilizing a project management approach, the successful candidate will manage all aspects of the athletic website, social media, graphics, media relations, team statistics and other content and media relations. This candidate will work closely with the athletic directors while supporting head coaches to promote Bryant & Stratton College’s 20 NJCAA sports teams as well as be an administrator for game day operations. Excellent oral and written communication skills, presentation skills, analytical and project management skills are required with graphic design and video editing experience a plus.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBLIBITES:

· Maintain the Bobcats athletic website in all assets including results, statistics, images, graphics, schedules, preview and game recaps, quality stories with no grammatical errors, administrative staff updates and video stories.

· Lead and maintain BSC Athletics social media with regular and timely posts as well as need for game-day operations such as programs, photos and video.

· Support coaches and administrative staff with marketing and recruitment activities for current and future students.

· Coordinate home game day video streaming.

· Maintain a collaborative and positive working relationship with strong communication to administrators, coaches, student-athletes and other college offices as well as external partners supporting Bobcats athletics.

· Maintain confidentiality to include but not limited to information, files and records that the incumbent may obtain or possess, in accordance with federal and state laws and Bryant & Stratton College policies.

· Maintain all statistical (in-season, career & historical) material for the Region and the NJCAA.

· Prepare hometown stories, releases and feature stories for student-athletes/coaches.

· Coordinate photo coverage for all varsity sports to include action, team and individual athlete photos.

· Create content for sports wrap-ups on each sport for external release and use in other publications.

· Promote student-athletes for scholarships and awards including: Academic all-conference, All-Americas; weekly and seasonal Region 4 honors.

· Maintain sports team photo files.

· Responsible for the organization and conduct of the Athletic Hall of Fame, Scholar-Athlete Reception and Athletic Awards Program.

· Responsible for the hiring and management of all home contest student workers with the supervision of the athletic director.

· Meet with coaches, students, and other departments as needed.

· Assist with coordinating alumni events and annual graduation ceremony.

· Other duties as assigned by the Athletic Director or Associate Athletic Director

Qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree required.

· Experience with video streaming and editing a plus.

· Experience in a college sports information office, media or comparable environment, preferred.

· Successful candidate must have strong, leadership, role modeling, organizational, and interpersonal skills

· Must have an understanding of collegiate regulations.

· Experience with Stat Crew & Presto Sports software, Graphic Design software such as Canva or Box Out, video streaming, and editing hardware and software are recommended.

· Possess a strong knowledge of the digital media landscape including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube. Knowledgeable in the use of cutting-edge social media tools and technologies to help take our social channels to the next level.

· Excellent oral and written communication skills.

· Be a self-starter and have exceptionally strong writing and editing capabilities, strong project-management capabilities, be a team player, think creatively, and thrive in a fast-paced working environment.

· This position will require working some nights and weekends, lifting light equipment and some travel.
