Job Description
Anoka-Ramsey Community College is seeking one full-time, fixed-term faculty member for Communication Studies for the 2024-2025 academic year. The primary responsibilities include teaching a variety of Communication Studies course offerings. Teaching responsibilities will be primarily face-to-face classes on the Coon Rapids campus and may include opportunities for online or hybrid instruction. Faculty are expected to engage in discipline, division, and college matters through attendance at division meetings, service on committees, and continued professional development. The Communication Studies department is committed to guiding our students and colleagues to be more effective communicators; and seeks engaged and equity-minded candidates with strong interpersonal skills. Required Qualifications
  • Master’s degree with a major in speech, speech communication, or communication, or communication studies or
  • Master’s degree in any discipline/field with a minimum of 18 graduate semester credits (27 graduate quarter credits) in speech, speech communication, or communication, or communication studies.
Preferred Qualifications
  • A philosophy of teaching that focuses on equitable and inclusive teaching and learning;
  • Demonstrated commitment towards building a more culturally and racially diverse community;
  • Experience with or a strong interest in utilizing proven strategies to eliminate equity gaps;
  • A positive, growth-oriented mindset demonstrated through professional development and engagement in the communication discipline (e.g., engagement in professional associations, publications);
  • Experience teaching Communication Studies courses;
  • Demonstrated interest and experience teaching Mass Communication courses.
Other Requirements
In accordance with the Minnesota State Vehicle Fleet Safety Program, employees driving on college/university business who use a rental or state vehicle shall be required to conform to Minnesota State’s vehicle use criteria and consent to a Motor Vehicle Records check.

Full-time faculty salaries are based on an evaluation of education and related experience after a job offer has been accepted and currently range from $51,303 -$94,592. Full-time faculty work 171 days during a nine-month academic year and receive excellent benefits including health insurance, life insurance, dental insurance, short and long-term disability, paid personal and sick leave, retirement savings plans, tuition waiver for employees and dependents, professional development funds, along with many optional benefit programs.
** Please note, Initial Step Placement is established by the Minnesota State College Faculty (MSCF) contract in which sets salary limitations to what a new faculty member is able to begin at. This will differ from the maximum salary range in this posting. For more information, please visit the collective bargaining agreement between Minnesota State College Faculty (MSCF) and the State of Minnesota. Salary will be commensurate with education and experience.
