The Veterinary Medical Center at The Ohio State University is searching for a

Staff Pharmacist to be responsible for providing pharmacy services and customer support to internal and external clients and students; dispensing prescriptions, sterile and non-sterile compounding and maintaining records in accordance with Ohio State Board of Pharmacy regulations; overseeing drug storage, narcotics inventory and administration; managing inventory in pharmacy and Cubex dispensing system; maintaining inventory and pricing data in hospital information system; and other duties as assigned by the Pharmacy Manager. The Staff Pharmacist with clinical focus acts as a drug information resource for owners, pharmacists, veterinary professionals, students, and other associate hospital personnel; participates in appropriate hospital and/or departmental and patient rounds and/or committees relevant to practice area; serves as the lead pharmacist for safety and USP compliance for the pharmacy and throughout the hospital; assists with clinical trials performed in the VMC; provides educational programs for pharmacy and clinical hospital staff.


Position works full time, rotating days, evenings, and holidays, and rotating Saturday mornings; will also participate in rotating on-call duties.

Minimum Education Required:
Doctor of Pharmacy Degree

Additional Education Desired:
PGY1 Residency in Veterinary Pharmacy

Hiring range - $117,000 - $143,000


Additional Information:

Standing for long periods of time; Pushing/pulling/lifting up to 50 pounds; Exposure to animal dander and/or zoonotic diseases; 
Exposure to needle sticks, hazardous chemicals, and/or bio-hazardous waste. Requires weekend, nights, and/or holiday hours.
