Position Summary

The central mission of the Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) in the MSU College of Education is to foster a culture that is equitable, inclusive, caring, open, and safe for all students, staff, and faculty. To that end, we are looking for a dynamic, enthusiastic and knowledgeable professional to join our team. The Assistant/Associate Director for DEI will provide direct support to the Associate Dean for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in the development, implementation and maintenance of programs, policies, and practices that promote improvements in matters of equity and inclusion in the College among students, faculty, and staff. Key responsibilities include facilitating community learning via workshops, common readings, and curricular audits that increase the competency and capacity for DEI work among students, staff, and faculty; overseeing recruitment activities that seek to attract undergraduate and graduate students from diverse backgrounds to the College of Education; serving as a liaison with other College of Education committees to advance a college-specific DEI strategic plan; and other duties as assigned by the Associate Dean. Another important component of the Assistant/Associate Director for DEI’s work is coordinating accessibility support throughout the College of Education. This includes overseeing universal accessibility compliance and supervising accessibility support for classroom and online instruction.

Required Degree

Doctorate -Education or related field


Minimum Requirements

Minimum 5 years developing and delivering diversity, equity, and inclusion-related programming.


Desired Qualifications

Experience working with a diverse array of education stakeholders (K-12 and higher education); experience working with digital accessibility; experience applying for and managing grants.
