Job Summary

Occasional Software Engineer responsible for instrument command and telemetry tools for integration, test, and science operations of the SPHEREx satellite, which is scheduled for launch early in 2025. SPHEREx will conduct the first, all-sky, near-infrared, spectroscopic survey.

Essential Job Duties

• Maintain the SPHEREx instrument command and telemetry database.
• Support mission operations and science data analysis teams that use the command and telemetry database.
• Develop and maintain tools that are used to generate commands and display telemetry during instrument integration, test, and science operations.

Basic Qualifications

• Master's degree in space studies or related discipline.
• 20+ years of experience working on space and aeronautical projects.
• Familiarity with spacecraft telemetry standards.
• Previous experience writing tools to command spacecraft instruments and display telemetry.

Preferred Qualifications

• Working knowledge of COSMOS and FORTH. Familiarity with the SPHEREx instrument electronics.
