Essential Job Functions
- Prepares and executes realistic, hands-on simulation scenarios to enhance student learning outcomes
- Programs and operates computerized mannequins and other lab simulation equipment, including the use of the associated hardware and software, to support student learning objectives
- Trains faculty, staff, and students in the use of nursing simulation lab equipment
- Operates computerized mannequins and other lab simulation equipment, including the use of the associated hardware and software
- Procures, installs, configures, and repairs simulation lab mannequins and equipment
- Serves as primary liaison with lab equipment vendors to support appropriate and timely service and repair of mannequins and lab equipment
- Supports the development of curriculum related to the use of the simulation lab equipment
- Collaborates with department faculty and staff on the scheduling of simulation lab use
- Collaborates with others within the department to develop and create lab simulation experiences
- Completes set-up and clean-up of laboratory exercises to prepare the laboratory for academic use
- Collaborates with faculty lab personnel on the purchase and maintenance of simulation laboratory supplies
- Supports department faculty with research including utilization of simulators for scholarship and participation in project development, as needed
- Performs other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of an associate's degree or a combination of education/certification(s) and/or experience suitable for the position
- Laboratory experience working in a hospital setting, understanding of medical terminology or other related experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's degree or a combination of education/certification(s) and/or experience suitable for the position in business management, communications, computer science, education, emergency medical technician or emergency medical services or a related field of study
- Experience using IT technologies and platforms including; high fidelity simulation manikin (e.g. Laerdal), simulation recording platforms (e.g. SimCapture), medication dispensing system (e.g. Sim2Grow), electronic health record (e.g. ATI EHR Tutor)
- Experience in acute care healthcare
