ORGANIZATIONAL SUMMARY:
Student Outreach & Support (SOS) provides outreach and intervention across the USF community to students whose behavior or distress places them at risk for academic, emotional and other difficulties. SOS oversees a range of programs including:

1. St. Petersburg campus student of concern referral systemand leadership for the behavioral intervention team, or SOCAT - Students of Concern Assistance Team.
2. Feed-a-Bull Food Pantry
3. Reverse vending recycling program.

The purpose of the department is to work at ensuring the safety of the learning environment and the campus community while balancing the needs and wellbeing of the individual student.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The position of senior support coordinator is crucial in maintaining the demands of the multifaceted operations of Student Outreach & Support and SOCAT. This position will assist in the daily operations of SOS and help manage high-risk students of concern, including working with students with mental health concerns, and linkage and referral to resources on- and off-campus. This position provides assistance and support to the SOS Assistant Director by serving as the lead support coordinator, assisting the processing and triaging referrals and assisting support coordinators with managing cases.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Case Management: Provides case management for students of concern through assessing areas of need and formulating intervention plans to minimize and/or resolve problems. Assists students with social service needs, such as navigation of university systems, referral to community resources, access to medical care, transition to the university following hospitalization, and crisis intervention.
Consults with on- and off-campus support service providers in tracking and following up on referrals and establishes and maintains regular contact with community resources to ensure quality referrals. Monitors on-going cases and documents all case management activities. Maintains full, accurate, and up-to-date case records.
Assists in the support of the St. Pete Feed-A-Bull Food Pantry and the daily operation of the pantry. Assists in coordinating the Reverse Vending program and light maintenance of the Reverse Vending Machines. Employee is expected to participate in university and student success committees. Additionally they are expected to develop a professional development plan that contributes to their growth as a professional.
Coordinator duties: In the absence of the AD, the Senior Support Coordinator takes the lead in the reviewing and triaging of incoming SOS/SOCAT referrals related to students in need of support from faculty, staff, students and community partners. Assists with onboarding and training of new staff in policies and procedures.
Maintains a directory of community resources available to students. Identifies and establishes rapport with collateral support systems. Works with health care providers as appropriate to follow-up on students hospitalized for acute care needs (e.g., acute substance intoxication, psychiatric illness, medical care)
Performs other duties as assigned.

SPECIAL WORKING CONDITIONS:

Evening and weekend work may be required at times, as well as on-call duty for emergencies.


POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
MINIMUM:
Each position assigned to this classification must require specific training at the Bachelor's degree or Master's degree level in Education, Special Education, Psychology, Social Work, or other field appropriate to the program content. Bachelor's degree candidates must have at least two years of applicable experience. The Master's degree may substitute for the required experience. Specific certifications or licensures may be required or preferred for certain program areas.

PREFERRED:

Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, or Higher Education and Student Affairs or other related field. Licensure as a mental health professional in Florida. At least two years of experience providing outreach, consultation, crisis intervention, and/or case management in a university, community mental health, or health care setting. Experience working with a behavioral intervention/case management database system (e.g., Maxient, Symplicity).
