Occ Summary (FMD) Work PerformedN/AKnowledge, Ski llsand AbilitiesPerform other related duties incidental to the work desc ribedherein.assigned to this classification.and duties required ofperson nelsoclassified.The above statementsindividualsdescribehiring, performan ceappraisals,generalthe generalnature and level of work This is not inte ndedto be an exhaustive listof all responsibilities beingperformed byPer form supervisory duties in the care, cleaning, and generalhousekeepingo fseveral buildings,residence areas, or sections of large buildings of Du keUniversity;hire and train new employees;conduct first step grievance h earings.Establish and maintain housekeeping schedules and assign employe estoareas for varioushousekeepingduties; conduct comprehensive inspectio nsto check the completion ofwork assignments.Ensure that assignments are appropriately staffed and that employeeshave adequate supplies andequipm ent for completion of assignments.Discuss general housekeeping procedure swith personnel of the assignedarea; recommend andimplementchanges inpro cedures.Maintain records and submit reports concerning personnel, equipm ent,supplies, expense, andhousekeeping activities.Take necessary actiont o correct any mechanical, structural, orelectrical condition in needofre pair or replacement.Perform various personnel functions including,butnot limited to,promotions, transfers andvacationschedules;conduct firststepg rievance hearings.Monitor and ensure the training of new personnel.

Minimum Qualifications
Education

Work requires the ability to provide instructions and maintain records generally acquired through a partial high school education.


Experience

Work requires four years of cleaning or related experience necessary OR AN EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF RELEVANT EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE to obtain knowledge of scope of housekeeping unit operations, or four years of supervisory experience to becomefamiliar with accepted supervisory and personnel practices and standards.
